Questions Buyers Actually Ask

Does it really cost nothing to bring my own agent to a builder's office?

Many builders budget for buyer-agent compensation, but policies vary by builder, community, and offer. Choosing not to use representation does not automatically produce a price reduction. Confirm the builder's current policy before registering or signing. Remember that a builder's sales representative represents the builder, not the buyer.

Is New Home Dispatch affiliated with a specific builder?

No. Rankings, comparisons, and briefings are independent buyer intelligence, reported for the buyer's side of the table. As the platform grows, builders may get dedicated showcase space, clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial coverage, the way a magazine's ads stay separate from its reviews.

I'm not in Central Texas. Is this still useful to me?

Yes, the mechanics of builder incentives, contracts, and sales structure are similar nationwide, even if the exact numbers differ by market. The Explorer and reporting currently cover Central Texas, with more markets planned.

Will builders ever be able to pay to be featured?

Possibly, in a dedicated showcase space, clearly labeled as such and kept separate from the Explorer's comparisons and the Playbook. The separation between editorial coverage and any paid placement is explained in full on the Methodology page.

What happens after I sign up?

Every one of the 16 chapters is a free, instant read, no email, ever, and each downloads as its own PDF for free. The Dare to Compare Workbook, the Builder Comparison Playbook, and the Texas Tax Reality Guide are also free downloads with no email. Only the complete bound 16-chapter Playbook and its three stage volumes ask for a first name and email, which also signs you up for future quarterly Playbook updates. No phone number, ever. Between editions, the site itself is the live source, every page carries its own verification date, and facts get re-checked and corrected as the market changes. No calls, no builder mailing lists, no pressure to buy anything.
