New Retail & Restaurants Tracker

What's actually opening near the communities tracked here — before it shows up in a builder's own marketing. Sourced from local business reporting, not a leasing office's amenities pitch.

What buyers need to know
  • What changedAnchored retail centers and dining are opening near tracked communities — Walmart- and Target-anchored centers, town centers, and downtown districts.
  • Who it affectsBuyers weighing Santa Rita Ranch, Wolf Ranch, Belterra, Sunfield, Rancho Sienna, Blackhawk, Sweetwater, and the Buda / Kyle / San Marcos area (including 6 Creeks, Crosswinds, and Plum Creek North), where daily amenities are still filling in.
  • When it mattersSome centers are open now; others are announced or under construction, so the amenity you're counting on may be a year or more out.
  • What's uncertainAnnounced tenants and opening dates change, and a signed anchor doesn't guarantee the smaller shops around it.
  • What to verifyCheck the center's leasing or city permit status for a named tenant before you value a home on it.

Georgetown / Liberty Hill

Affects: Wolf Ranch, Santa Rita Ranch, Bryson, Travisso, Rancho Sienna

Santa Rita Ranch Center (Walmart Supercenter anchor)

Announced, 2027 Opening

A $100 million, 400,000-square-foot commercial development at the junction of Liberty Hill, Leander, and Georgetown, anchored by a 176,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter designed to match Santa Rita Ranch's architectural character. The Walmart alone is expected to bring roughly 400 jobs. Anticipated opening is 2027 — worth knowing about now, but not a near-term amenity.

Wolf Ranch Town Center

Actively Filling In

Already the most built-out retail center among the tracked communities, and still adding tenants: Machi Sushi (all-you-can-eat sushi and hibachi) and Potbelly Sandwich Shop both opened in February 2026, joining First Watch and Rally House from earlier openings. This is the community amenity that's furthest from "someday" — it's functioning today.

Liberty Hill Crossing (Target-anchored)

Under Construction

A large-format Target — 20,000 square feet bigger than a typical location, at 148,000 total — is under construction at US 183 and Seward Junction Loop, with additional retail and service tenants (including a planned nail salon/spa) filling in around it. Most relevant to Santa Rita Ranch and Bryson residents.

Parmer Ranch H-E-B and Whataburger

Open

Georgetown's third H-E-B opened at Parmer Ranch Marketplace (28713 Ronald Reagan Blvd.) in September 2025, anchoring the same Ronald Reagan Boulevard corridor Rancho Sienna sits on; a Whataburger followed as an in-line tenant in June 2026. Both are already open and functioning today — the more immediately useful item for a Rancho Sienna household than a project still a year out.

Bluebonnet Plaza (near Wolf Ranch)

Under Construction, Phase One Targeted Mid-2026

A new center just west of Wolf Ranch Town Center with confirmed tenants Shake Shack, Velvet Taco, Chipotle, and a Frost Bank branch; broke ground in April 2025 and was roughly 65% leased as of that date. Genuinely new construction rather than existing retail, though it sits on a separate corridor from the Ronald Reagan/Hwy 29 stretch nearer Rancho Sienna.

Dripping Springs

Affects: Belterra, Headwaters

Belterra Village

Established, Still the Anchor

The 93-acre mixed-use center built into Belterra itself remains the defining amenity for both Belterra and neighboring Headwaters — grocery (H-E-B), a movie theater, and a rotating restaurant lineup residents can reach without getting on US 290. This is the rare Austin-area case where "walkable retail" in a master plan's marketing is actually true on the ground.

Rice and Oak (downtown Dripping Springs)

Opened February 2026

A new brick-and-mortar Thai restaurant from the owner of the Aroi Thai food truck that served the Belterra community for over a decade. A small addition, but a useful signal: downtown Dripping Springs' dining scene is growing independently of Belterra Village, giving residents a second real option a short drive away.

Buda / Kyle / San Marcos

Affects: Sunfield, Kissing Tree, 6 Creeks, Crosswinds, Plum Creek North

The Corner on Main — Sunfield Entertainment Space

Opened November 2026

A 7,000-square-foot entertainment venue branded directly with Sunfield, featuring indoor mini-golf, golf simulators, a sports bar, a food truck, and a dog-friendly beer garden with live outdoor music. This is a genuine on-the-ground amenity addition for Sunfield residents specifically, not a broader area development that happens to be nearby.

The Roundabout in Buda

Broke Ground October 2025

A dining, retail, and trail-connected development in Buda, built through a public-private partnership with the city, targeting a late-2026 opening. Positioned to serve both Sunfield and Kissing Tree residents; local business groups have specifically cited it as filling a retail gap in Buda.

Kyle Park (I-35 & Bebee Road)

Under Construction, Groundbreaking Feb. 2026

A 101-acre mixed-use development anchoring east Kyle with confirmed tenants including Dick's Sporting Goods, T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Barnes & Noble, Burlington, Raising Cane's, BJ's Brewhouse, Chili's, Dave's Hot Chicken, and a 40,000-square-foot EoS Fitness targeted for 2027. This is Kyle's largest current retail anchor and the nearest large-format shopping option for 6 Creeks, Crosswinds, and Plum Creek North residents — though it sits several miles north on the I-35 corridor, not immediately adjacent to FM 150.

Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings

Opened April 2025

Opened at 920 Kohlers Crossing, directly in the FM 150/Kohlers Crossing corridor near Plum Creek North and Crosswinds — Nashville-style hot chicken with multiple spice tiers. A small addition, but a genuine new dining option within the immediate trade area of these communities, unlike the larger Kyle Park project further north.

Pflugerville

Affects: Blackhawk

Ridge Crossing

Under Construction, Targeted Late 2026

A 22,000-square-foot retail/restaurant development across two buildings at 20601 Hodde Lane, immediately adjacent to Blackhawk, plus an 8,000-square-foot central green space with walkable pathways. This is the most directly relevant retail project found for Blackhawk — it sits at the community's doorstep rather than just somewhere in Pflugerville. No specific tenants have been announced yet as of the most recent update, so treat this as a confirmed project to watch rather than a finished amenity.

Bee Cave / Hill Country

Affects: Sweetwater

Winston's Coffee, Provisions & Pizza

Opened December 2025

A neighborhood café and pizzeria at Hill Country Galleria serving breakfast through dinner — coffee, donuts, Italian sandwiches, and Neapolitan-style pizza. A straightforward new dining option at the Galleria, which remains the primary retail hub near Sweetwater.

Sicara Shop + Design Studio

Opened May 2026

A home décor, custom furniture, and interior design storefront at Hill Country Galleria. A minor addition, not a dining destination, but a genuine new tenant at the center nearest Sweetwater.

Sources: Community Impact reporting (Lake Travis/Westlake edition). A 145-acre commercial parcel on Hwy 71 near Sweetwater ("Sweetwater Crossing") is being marketed for office/medical/retail use, but no tenants, groundbreaking, or dated announcement exist yet — not included here per this tracker's no-padding policy. Worth a follow-up check if leasing activity is announced.

Not yet covered in this edition: Easton Park and Whisper Valley. Nothing in this tracker is invented to fill a gap — when a corridor doesn't have a sourced, dated update worth reporting, it's left out rather than padded. Check back on the next verification pass.
How this tracker works: Entries are added when a development directly affects a tracked community's day-to-day amenities — not every retail opening within city limits. Status is checked against the primary source before publishing. This page is re-checked on an ongoing basis, not a fixed calendar. For the underlying local news sources directly, see the Resource Desk.
