The Corrections Log

What we got wrong, on the record.

Every publication makes errors. Most quietly edit them away. We log ours, what was wrong, how we found out, what changed, and when, because a data source you can’t watch correct itself is a data source you can’t fully trust. If you spot an error anywhere on this site, tell us and it will appear here.

Willow Springs (M/I Homes) is in Buda, not Austin

What we published: the Entry-Level Price Floor Report and the M/I Homes profile listed M/I’s Willow Springs as inside Austin city limits, citing aggregator listing data, and called it “the cheapest in-city entry.” What’s true: the builder’s own site places the community at 12725 Short Grasshopper Dr, Buda 78610. How we caught it: routine source-of-truth re-check against the builder’s site during a data audit, same day. What changed: the report, both affected builder profiles, the Affordability Desk, and the price-floor dataset (entry re-flagged city-corrected). The in-city count in the report was revised accordingly.

How corrections work here

Factual errors are corrected in place and logged here permanently, the log is append-only, like our datasets. Distinctions we maintain: a correction fixes something that was wrong when published; an update reflects the world changing (prices move weekly, that’s not an error). Corrections are prioritized over new content, always. See how we research.
